Week 19 – Butterfly Pavilion

This is the magical dome-shaped butterfly pavilion, designed by Stephen Stefanou, at the MGM Macau. Inside the dome, it shows nearly 1,000 butterflies, with more than 130 species, from different parts of the world including Africa, China, Malaysia, South America and many more.

I visited it today and I liked it so much. The butterflies aren’t afraid of people, but I did see some folks are afraid of them when they fly by. 😀

This reminds me of a butterfly house nearby, too! Your photograph has inspired me to go back soon – it’s a lot of fun to see so many wonderfully colorful creatures in one place!

Intriguing composition and subject. Butterfly sanctuaries/houses have great potential for photography. The reflective orbs are an interesting element – does it represent an eye of a butterfly ? (oops poetic reflection) 🙂

    • It can be! 😀 I’ve never thought about it until you mention that it may represents an eye! You have a poetic and brilliant mind!
