Week 2 – A Thought To Ponder: “Discover Your Work”

week 2_2013

Buddha says, “Your work is to discover your work, and then with all your heart to give yourself to it.”

I always ask myself (this usually happens on Mondays) why I’m trapped in a small office room dealing with uninteresting and boring paper works. When will I be free?

That takes me to wonder, If I had discovered my work, If I had learned the ultimate “lessons” I need to learn at this small and uninteresting working place, would I be free from work then? 😛

P.S.: Only my work that I feel uninteresting, but people I’ve met at my work are all nice and great. 🙂

  1. I feel the same too.

But I guess for me, work is to pay and support for my other love in life. 🙂

    • Also, work pays for my travel bills too 😀 When I think about that, I’m happy 😀

  2. If you can find a way to make a living doing your passion, then grab it with both hands.

I think you may not be free from work but free from the trapped feeling.

    • This is wise. As our situation can not be changed instantly, but we have the choice to change our attitude and way of thinking. 😀 Thanks!

  5. It’s another of life’s lessons, really — to be able to enjoy a passion (like photography or writing or dancing), one has to work hard so that they can have time and resources to follow their passion!

My thoughts on the subject, which I imagine come from a different place than yours since I am somewhat older! 🙂

    • Sometimes, I really appreciate those people whose job and their passion in life converge. 😀 They might have done a lot of work or goodness in order to get this.

Maybe you are more a people person than a paperwork person. 🙂

  7. I’m not sure, Cristina, however I believe the Buddha would agree that life is a series of steps….. Your current situation being one of those steps….!

    January 14, 2013 at 1:47 pm

    • Yes, life is a series of steps, and I wish I have taken a path that, eventually, can lead me to a place where I really want to be 😀

  9. I know it can’t be an easy thing to figure out… because I think most people are still trying (well, I know that I am, anyway)!

    • Yes, this is the most difficult part… 😀

  10. I think we’re all where we need to be right now. The important thing is to learn what you’re meant to learn from your life right now and to live afterwards with that lesson! It will help you learn what you really want to do! 🙂

    • “to learn what you’re meant to learn from your life”… I have to think it deeply…otherwise I would not be able to go to the next step of life… Thanks, Shellriver! 😀

  11. This post speaks to every working class drone out there – and there are a lot of us – so you’ve definitely hit the mark, young lady! Nice job!

    • I hope you success! Just follow your dreams. You are so young, you’ve got plenty of time to make your dream and effort to realize!!! 😀

  13. I like that quote! I agree.

Maybe you haven’t found a type of work that suits you? Maybe you should start looking for something else? 🙂

    • I wish for some work which is more relax, have shorter working hours, worry-free and well paid. 😀

  14. A fascinating image. Work is a necessary part of the lives of most people and unfortunately most jobs become monotonous after a while. At least you have the blessing of friends in the office – that helps the day to pass more quickly 🙂

  15. If I took a photo in my workplace, they’d fire me 😀
